About The Position
The Community Development Intern assists Community Development staff with competitive funding processes, policy and procedure updates, demographic research, and research into best practices for affordable housing and community development programs and projects. The intern also supports project organization, client-program intake, team meetings, inclusion efforts, monitoring activities, and the preparation of social media material and project summaries, including maps and graphics. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Political Science, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency.
Responsibilities
- Assist with competitive funding process tasks.
- Compile and update policies and procedures.
- Collect and analyze demographic information.
- Research best practices in affordable housing and community development programs and projects.
- Organize project files and participate in Community Development team meetings.
- Assist with intake for direct client programs.
- Develop social media material and project summaries, including maps and graphics, as needed.
- Assist with MBE, Section 3, and other related inclusion efforts, including outreach, recruitment, and training of contractors and employees.
- Assist staff with monitoring activities.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
