About The Position
The City of Fayetteville is seeking an experienced and visionary professional to serve as its next Director of Community Development. This is a senior-level position responsible for guiding the City’s growth, development, and long-term planning efforts. Fayetteville operates as a full-service municipality under a Council-Manager form of government, providing a comprehensive range of services designed to meet the needs of a growing and dynamic community. Fayetteville is a strategic, forward-thinking organization guided by a formally adopted Strategic Plan that aligns policy priorities with operational execution. In recent years, the City has invested significantly in its facilities and public spaces. The opening of the new City Hall in 2021 marked a major milestone, serving as both a functional administrative hub and a centerpiece of downtown revitalization efforts.
