Administrative, technical and professional work in preparing and implementing community development plans, programs and services for the City of Rochester, drafting grant applications for funding various City initiatives and programs; managing grant implementation and grant reporting for City grants; all other related work as required. This role involves working under the general direction of the Economic Development Director, establishing one's own work plan and priorities in accordance with established policies and standards. The position requires independent thinking and initiative in the administration of the Community Development Block Grant and other grant programs, with the ability to modify procedures to meet new conditions. The work environment is typical office conditions, but requires attendance at numerous regular evening meetings with various city boards and committees. The employee operates a computer and general office equipment, and makes frequent contact with municipal, regional, state and federal agencies, boards, and committees, as well as the general public. Errors could result in recommendations adversely affecting the city’s development, as well as cause significant future funding or repayment of prior funding due to delays in processing important information or adverse legal consequences.
