As a Community Corrections Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining accountability, safety, and structure within a residential reentry environment. This position combines direct interaction with residents, monitoring responsibilities, and documentation to ensure residents remain compliant with program expectations. Candidates who are extended a conditional offer must complete an exhaustive background check process prior to beginning employment, which includes a criminal background check, drug screen, professional reference check, employment check, and PREA institutional employer checks. Requirements

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, including use of the internet and Microsoft Office
  • Must be a female employee to ensure required female staff coverage on assigned shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college education focused in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with criminal justice treatment programs.

Responsibilities

  • Signing residents in and out of the facility and verifying approved movements
  • Confirming employment schedules and other approved activities
  • Monitoring resident accountability through GPS systems and other tracking tools
  • Conducting breath tests, urinalysis testing, and other compliance checks
  • Performing pat searches, room searches, and vehicle searches
  • Completing incident reports and documenting resident activity
  • Maintaining safety and security within the facility while interacting professionally with residents
