The Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is actively recruiting to fill a full-time, non-permanent Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) position within the Community Corrections Division. This position works for the North Pierce County Special Assault Unit (SAU) located in Tacoma, WA. This non-permanent appointment is expected to last about four months. The North and South Pierce County SAUs supervise Level 1, 2, and 3 sex offenders, as well as individuals convicted of kidnapping who are required to register with the Sheriff. Depending on qualifications, candidates may be appointed at the CCO1 or CCO2 level. As a CCO2 (or CCO1), the role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve public safety through the effective supervision and accountability of supervised individuals (S/Is). Supervision efforts focus on S/I accountability and intervention to support a safe reentry into the community.
