North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) is seeking to fill two (2) Community Coordinator positions. These are permanent, 11-month, full-time, live-in positions reporting to the Dean of Students or designee. Community Coordinators are provided with an unfurnished apartment, and complimentary utilities (electric, water, and local phone), internet access, and access to fitness facilities, along with meals in the school cafeteria. The role involves hall management, supervision, desk and on-call duties, emergency response, community and wellness programming, student support and discipline, and committee work. Community Coordinators act as front-line responders for student and residence hall emergencies, serving "in loco parentis" for students and working closely with counselors, academic advisors, and parents/guardians as part of the student support team. They are the primary point of contact for students' families and collaborate with faculty and staff to support students. The role focuses on building community within designated residence halls and serving as a resource for residents. Work predominantly occurs during non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, and Community Coordinators are considered mandatory employees during emergency closings, adverse weather, and public health emergencies.
