About The Position

The Community Connector supports the County’s communications, public engagement, and community outreach efforts, with a primary focus on coordinating Community Advisory Committees (CACs). This position coordinates CAC operations, plans and supports community engagement activities, develops and manages content across digital and social media platforms, and works with County departments to ensure information is accurate, consistent, and accessible. The position also supports outreach, events, and communications initiatives through a variety of content and engagement methods. This is a temporary position currently funded through June 20, 2027. Continuation beyond that date is subject to future budget approval.

Requirements

  • Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in communications, urban planning, global studies, sociology, public policy, graphic design, and/or marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Functional knowledge of computer software and MS Windows operating system.
  • Experience in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, other online design editing applications and, social media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, and publicly announces recurring Community Advisory Committee meetings
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of CAC operations, ensuring meetings are organized and correctly conducted
  • Attend CAC meetings to provide support and foster positive interaction
  • Track metrics related to CAC participation, meetings, and public engagement to support reporting efforts
  • Conduct outreach campaigns to fill vacancies and maintain quorums and other public engagement opportunities
  • Attend public outreach activities including town halls, tabling at community events, and other public-facing interactions
  • Works closely with other County departments and functional teams to identify informational needs and coordinate content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness
