About The Position

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is dedicated to creating long-lasting positive change through various programs and services. They are seeking talented individuals committed to empowering the community by fostering a safe and welcoming environment that encourages growth and support. The Community Concierge team members are the face of the Y, responsible for supporting a best-in-class customer experience. They will actively interact with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and help them discover opportunities at the YMCA.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Earned high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
  • Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
  • Answer phones and email inquiries
  • Actively manage customer transactions
  • Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
  • Anticipate individuals' needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed
  • Ensure front desk operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Conduct hub tours responsive to the needs of prospective customers; sell memberships
  • Supports the YMCA’s commitment to child abuse prevention by reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
  • Follows all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
  • Reports any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
  • Completes all child abuse prevention training as required
