About The Position

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is dedicated to creating long-lasting positive change through various programs and services. They are seeking talented individuals committed to empowering the community by fostering a safe and welcoming environment that encourages growth and support. The Community Concierge team members are the face of the Y, responsible for supporting a best-in-class customer experience. They will actively interact with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and help them discover opportunities at the YMCA.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Earned high school diploma or GED
Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred

Responsibilities

Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
Answer phones and email inquiries
Actively manage customer transactions
Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
Anticipate individuals' needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed
Ensure front desk operations run smoothly and efficiently
Conduct hub tours responsive to the needs of prospective customers; sell memberships
Supports the YMCA’s commitment to child abuse prevention by reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
Follows all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
Reports any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
Completes all child abuse prevention training as required
