About The Position

St. Benedict's is seeking an individual with a background and knowledge in cheering or pep squad to coach middle school students during the school year and sports seasons. These are seasonal positions, paid per sport, and are not benefits-eligible. The position starts August 17th and ends October 19th.

Requirements

  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Safesport certification.
  • Safeguarding certification.
  • Background Check.
  • Experience working with children, preferably between 10-13 years old.
  • Previous experience as a player, assistant coach, or volunteer.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills.
  • Ability to teach fundamentals and develop skills.
  • Understanding of rules, safety, and sportsmanship.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor middle school students.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and/or run for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach and work with equipment.
  • Ability to communicate both audibly and visually and ability to listen.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Create practice plans to execute a productive, positive, and educational practice.
  • Communicate with families for last-minute changes and reminders through Gamechanger during the season.
  • Report to Athletic Directors for any behavior or concerns that arise during practices and/or performances.
  • Manage any equipment and emergency supplies during the season.
  • Communicate with Athletic Directors in a timely manner if unable to attend practices or performances.
  • Take attendance at each practice and performance.
  • Attend all performances.
  • Travel to the home volleyball facility (A5 West Volleyball Club).
