About The Position

This is an exciting position in our MSPCA-Angell Cape Adoption Center Community Clinic. The primary responsibilities of this position are overseeing and coordinating spay/neuter and medical care services provided by the MSPCA-Angell Cape Community Clinic. Our animal clinic provides medical care to the animals at our Cape Adoption Center as well as low cost spay/neuter and acute outpatient veterinary care for animals of low income pet owners. The MSPCA has the largest network of low cost veterinary clinics in New England. The goal of our Community Clinics is to provide affordable and accessible care and help keep families together with their pets. Spanish speaking candidates strongly encouraged to apply! The Community Clinic Coordinator is the primary client contact and coordinator of medical services aimed at providing affordable pet care for families in need and interacts with several departments within our organization. Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in an animal shelter, animal clinic, or similar environment.
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service or social service role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Well organized with great attention to detail
  • Skilled at de-escalation techniques with emotional clients
  • Strong knowledge of general dog/cat care, as well as a love for animals and people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients to coordinate and communicate services offered at our Cape Community Clinic.
  • The assessment of financial need and approval for veterinary services for pets of low income pet owners.
  • Coordinate sensitive and complex medical cases with clients.
  • Coordinate the workflow of the clinic, schedule appointments, and facilitate the intake and discharge of animals.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to assess and determine mission-centric program needs.
  • Train and work closely with volunteers in order to streamline intake and discharge of spay/neuter and medical care clients.
  • Inventory of Veterinary supplies and other veterinary assistant duties as assigned.
