About The Position

The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) is recruiting for Full Time Community Bus Operator positions. This role involves operating the Agency’s transit bus fleet (40' or less) to provide safe, dependable, and courteous public transportation. Assignments may be in Hemet or Riverside, and applicants must be available to work 7 days a week, including holidays and all shifts.

Requirements

Stable work history
Minimum age of 18
Excellent driving record
Minimum 12 months of driving history
Ability to obtain and maintain a Class B Permit/License with endorsements and a current medical certificate
Possess an accurate railroad-type watch, or approved equivalent
A current, valid, and non-restricted Class C Driver's License at the time of application
DMV Driver's Record Report printout (issued not more than 30 days prior to date of application)
Driving history clear of any suspensions within the past five (5) years
Driving history with no more than three (3) points within the past three (3) years
Driving history with no two (2) point violations within the past three (3) years
No accidents which the applicant contributed to cause within 3 years from application date
Appeared in court as required
Provide proof of a Class B Permit with the passenger and air brake endorsements; or a current Class A or B License with the proper endorsements prior to the hire date
Obtain and maintain a valid Class B Driver's License, with the proper endorsements and current medical certificate for continued employment

Responsibilities

Operate Agency transit and support vehicles in both revenue and non-revenue service.
Maintain an established schedule along a designated route.
Be available to operate Agency buses on pre-assigned shifts.
Be responsible for the safety of passengers.
Collect proper fares according to Agency tariffs.
Give transit information.
Collect patronage and revenue data as assigned.
Prepare report forms.
Report equipment defects or failures.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
