Barista | Community Your work, which will include but not be limited to the duties listed below, will help WeWork to achieve the following: End to end operation of the Espresso Bar onsite at WeWork. Provide an outstanding service and experience for WeWork members, guests and WeWork corporate employees. Create an engaging environment on the main Community floor; focus on building relationships with our members and connecting them through delicious coffee beverages!

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of post High School education preferred
  • 1+ years experience as a Barista
  • 2+ years of equivalent experience in a restaurant/hospitality environment.
  • Up to date food handler certificate
  • Verbal communication
  • Member-focused hospitality mindset
  • Basic food safety and sanitation training
  • Action oriented
  • Self-starter
  • Organization
  • Experience with POS system (Square POS used)
  • Inventory Management and Ordering through approved WeWork Vendor partnerships and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Daily operation of the Espresso Bar (Working Shift: Monday-Thursday; 7:30am-3:00p) as the sole Barista during this time.
  • Prepare coffee and espresso drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for espresso-based drinks and other offerings.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains a clean and well-stocked coffee bar at all times.
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, and any other amenities for the coffee bar.
  • Provide support when needed to the other community team members at or near the main community front desk. This may include welcoming members with warmth to the space outside of the coffee bar and providing help with any needs.
