The Community Arts Programmer is a specialized position assisting a community recreation coordinator/recreation supervisor in the development, coordination and implementation of a comprehensive community cultural development based Arts and Culture program, prioritizing work with an Indigenous focus. Programs and projects take place at Britannia Community Services Centres and in the Grandview-Woodlands and Strathcona neighbourhoods. This portfolio includes overseeing skill building arts programs such as music, dance visual and performing arts courses as well as community arts partnerships and community-engaged artist in residence projects. This position uses community development strategies grounded in authentic consultation and involvement of residents and community stakeholders in the co-creation, administration and delivery of arts programs and community engaged arts projects.
