The Community Aide performs routine to complex clerical and administrative activities supporting the daily operations of the community. Duties within this classification may have an information and referral emphasis or commission administrative emphasis or a combination of both. Work involves providing residents information about community housing grants, programs and services and assisting with applications and the management of the food and pet pantry or keeping official records of the City Commission and providing administrative support, coordinating schedules for meetings, external affairs and events, developing a variety of correspondence and public communications materials, conducting research, and completing projects. Interacts frequently with the public, and elected officials, and external agency representatives; handles highly sensitive and confidential matters. The primary emphasis of this position will be to provide administrative support and coordination for activities, programs, and special projects in direct support of the City Commission. Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative. Position relies on experience and exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Employees may report to the Social Services Supervisor or the assigned Elected Official.
