About The Position

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. is seeking a Community Advocate to work with Head Start families. This role involves advocating for families and connecting them with community resources and services in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. The position is a Full Time School Year role, working 10 months out of the year (August-June) with a 37.5-hour work week.

Requirements

AAS Degree in Human Services or Related Discipline
Current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations.
Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in community advocacy or social services preferred
Bilingual Language Abilities a plus, English/Spanish

Responsibilities

Advocate for and work with Head Start families in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.
Work with the parents of the Head Start enrolled children to strengthen the family’s knowledge of community resources and link families with appropriate agencies and services.
