About The Position

Join the KFI Team in Lincoln! KFI is a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, independent lives within their communities. We are seeking energetic, creative, and compassionate individuals to join our growing team. At KFI, your ideas and work have a real impact. This position supports two individuals: Dan, who lives in East Millinocket and enjoys music, learning, and outdoor activities, and Pam, who lives in Mattawamkeag and has a passion for history, music, and community engagement. The role involves assisting them with daily routines, engaging in their preferred activities, and supporting their social connections.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Maine Driver’s License
  • A Registered and Insured Vehicle
  • Evening and weekend availability

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including getting up and ready for the day.
  • Support individuals in pursuing their interests, such as music, outdoor activities, historical learning, and community events.
  • Facilitate social connections and interactions with neighbors and the community.
  • Adapt to the individual's needs and energy levels on a day-to-day basis.
  • Communicate effectively by paying close attention to gestures and actions.
  • Accompany individuals on rides, shopping trips, and errands.
  • Provide support during awake overnight shifts.
  • Engage in conversations and share experiences with the individuals.
