About The Position

As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to participate in world class science support. Your skills in systems architecture, communications equipment, and installation planning will be vital when installing and maintaining systemic solutions to meet your customers’ needs. You will gain experience in radio communications and air traffic control systems while supporting the safe conduct of flight operations on the Antarctic continent. You will be a valued member of a small team of highly skilled engineers where your contributions will be critical to the team’s success. You will gain valuable experience in designing and fielding communications and navigation systems in harsh, remote environments. This position requires travel to Antarctica.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and installing radio communications systems
  • Experience with 3-phase power generation, including phase splitting and power distribution for communications systems
  • Experience developing Installation Drawing Packages for communications systems
  • Knowledge of High-Frequency ( HF ) , Very-High Frequency ( VHF ) , and Ultra-High Frequency ( UHF ) radio communication systems
  • Ability to pass a National Science Foundation physical exam
  • Ability to travel to Antarctica for up to 4 weeks annually
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RADAR systems, Ubiquiti networking equipment, TACAN, and SATCOM technologies, or Rohde-Schwarz communication system equipment
  • Experience with aviation ground electronics systems
  • Secret clearance
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
