CGI is seeking a Communications Specialist who will develop clear, engaging, and actionable communications supporting Engineering, Field Operations, and Centralized Operations teams. In this role, you will translate complex business, operational, and technical information into communications that enable employees and field technicians to understand changes, take appropriate action, and effectively perform their work. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross functional stakeholders to gather information, identify key messages, and determine the most effective way to communicate operational and technical topics. This role requires strong judgment, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to develop effective communications even when source information is evolving or incomplete. This position is in Dallas, Texas and candidates must be open to a hybrid working model.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated business and technical writing experience with the ability to simplify complex concepts without losing critical information.
  • Experience developing professional communications such as emails, alerts, briefings, presentations, training content, job aids, or similar materials.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills with the ability to organize information and develop clear, professional presentations.
  • Proven ability to synthesize technical, operational, and business information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to interview SMEs, ask effective follow up questions, and convert discussions into accurate and actionable content.
  • Comfort working with incomplete, evolving, or ambiguous information while identifying gaps and driving content toward completion.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written communication, editing, proofreading, and content organization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple communication assignments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including the ability to develop or enhance professional visual communications and supporting materials.
  • Experience within telecommunications, fiber, network operations, or related technical environments.
  • Experience supporting Field Operations or other distributed operational organizations.
  • Experience developing communications specifically for field technicians or other frontline technical populations.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex Engineering, Field Operations, and Centralized Operations information into clear, concise, and actionable employee communications.
  • Develop emails, operational alerts, briefings, presentations, training materials, job aids, and other communications for employee and field technician audiences.
  • Interview SMEs and operational stakeholders to gather technical information, clarify requirements, and identify key messages.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources into communications that clearly explain what is changing, why it matters, and what actions employees need to take.
  • Develop and maintain PowerPoint presentations that communicate technical and operational information in a compelling and easy to understand format.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, training, and other cross functional teams to support communication needs for new initiatives, process changes, and operational updates.
  • Adapt messaging, tone, format, and level of technical detail based on the intended audience and communication channel.
  • Manage communications through review and approval cycles while incorporating stakeholder feedback and maintaining message consistency.
  • Support future operational initiatives by developing scalable communication approaches, templates, and content that improve information delivery to field populations.
