About The Position

The Communications Specialist helps ministries communicate clearly and effectively by developing promotional plans for ministry events, programs, and opportunities. This role partners with ministry leaders to understand their goals, recommend the right communication approach, develop messaging and copy, and provide creative direction within Preston Trail’s established communications strategy and brand.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications for assigned ministry events and initiatives within Preston Trail’s established communications strategy.
• Partner with ministry leaders to understand their goals, audience, message, and desired next step.
• Develop and recommend promotional plans, messaging, and communication approaches appropriate to each initiative.
• Write and edit clear, compelling copy for email, web, print, social media, and other communication needs.
• Develop creative briefs and provide clear direction and feedback to designers and other creative partners.
• Ensure assigned communications reflect Preston Trail’s brand, voice, and messaging standards.
• Partner with the Creative Operations Coordinator and channel owners to move approved communication plans into production and distribution.
• Identify potential stories and communication opportunities and bring them to the Communications Director for further development.
• Collaborate with the Communications Director and Creative Team on larger initiatives as needed.
