Required Skills The IGS Communications Specialist will coordinate internal and external communications strategies and event production in collaboration with the IGS communications team, which reports to the IGS Executive Director. IGS offers a vibrant staff community with opportunities for staff to lean into creative ideas to advance the institutes mission in parallel to individual professional development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • contribute to the development and execution of outreach strategics in support of IGS research with key audiences, including BU faculty, students, and staff, and externally with community organizations, media, policymakers, and industry. This includes contributing to policy briefs, reports, and multimedia offerings.
  • contribute to content development and promotion for IGS events, including coordination with internal and external partners, promotional content development, and event logistics.
  • managing social media accounts, including day-to-day content strategy and creation for interpretation of faculty research and coverage of institute events.
  • manage website content and regular updates in support of research and events.
  • participate in the recruitment and management of student communications assistants.
  • manage internal communications mechanisms, including updates to IGS email lists, calendars, and databases.
