About The Position

This role involves providing graphic design services for high-profile materials, requiring independent work and client/vendor interaction. The specialist will be the primary contact for local design needs, developing layouts, preparing final art, and coordinating projects from concept to production. The position also involves identifying and implementing improvements and best practices in graphic design services.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mastery in creative design/artwork.
  • Owns projects from start to finish; Accountability.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of creative design techniques; typography design; paper, ink and color specification; file translation techniques for all printed or electronic display materials.
  • Strong knowledge and training in computerized graphic arts and other state-of-the-art graphic tools.
  • Ability to learn new computer skills when new equipment becomes available.
  • Thorough knowledge of all printing procedures and preparing a project to be printed.
  • Exhibits teamwork skills when working on a project requiring additional help.
  • Experience with all Adobe Suite products.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills for intake, process/tracking, consulting with clients, vendors and demonstrating graphic design concepts.
  • Written communications: ability to compose reports, goals and results memos, etc., to inform Graphics team management of job status and progress.
  • Solid customer service orientation, effective interpersonal communication skills and sensitivity to others.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel, as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts/design.
  • 3+ years related experience in an in-house team or external agency.
  • Must present strong on-line/digital portfolio.
  • Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for design requests.
  • Provide design services and consultation for enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Work creatively and provide project advice while remaining within Company design standards.
  • Consult with clients and vendors to discuss project requirements; serve as client representative for graphic design matters.
  • Define and determine graphic needs of clients through consultation and client-provided drafts.
  • Design presentations, brochures, folders, bill inserts, icons/illustrative renderings, ads, web graphics, signage, and any other creative work as needed.
  • Ensure adherence of all materials to Company’s design and logo standards.
  • Create finished artwork for various pre-press, printing and other reproductive processes.
  • Remain up to date with the latest graphic design trends and use state-of-the-art methods and tools.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise logos, symbols, and other standard design specifications.
  • Review/verify graphic presentations for completeness and accuracy.
  • Aid Graphic Designers and Communications Assistants in developing designs, illustrations, and artwork.
  • Be available to work emergency storm assignments as required.
  • Be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Work in a very busy environment and handle multiple projects on parallel paths while still providing excellent designs.
  • Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of every employee’s role, which may include an Emergency Restoration assignment outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
