About The Position

This role will support an IT Customer Success and Enablement group where driving internal customer success and technology enablement will minimize disruption, enhance productivity, and improve the employee experience. The IT Communications Specialist will partner with Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers to create content and communications that support the global IT learning enterprise. SweetRush is seeking two Communications Specialists to support the eight key IT service areas: Learning & Enablement, Organizational Change Management, Communications & Campaigns, End User Events, Graphic & Experience Design, IT Sites, IT Continuous Improvement, and Business & Community Engagement. The position is located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metropolitan area and is an onsite role. The contract type is W2 Hourly Contract with a project duration from May 2026 to December 31, 2026, with a possible 1-year extension. The project capacity is 32 hours per week. SweetRush is a remote organization, and all resources must be technically savvy, have access to a strong internet signal, be comfortable with virtual/instant messaging and conferencing tools, and generally be available during established working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in communications, business, social sciences or similar.
  • 5+ years’ experience in internal communications, ideally in IT, HR, Internal Communications, or Marketing.
  • Proven experience in technical writing or communications within a corporate IT/technology environment
  • Strong writing and editing skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Experience collaborating with instructional design or eLearning teams on content creation
  • Familiarity with change management and stakeholder engagement practices
  • Proficiency with digital communication tools — intranet platforms, email campaign tools, and community platforms (e.g., Microsoft Viva Engage)
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced enterprise environment
  • Comfortable working remotely via virtual/instant messaging and video conferencing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with graphic design or digital tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Background in event planning or end-user enablement programs
  • Familiarity with IT Audit compliance standards and documentation
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated industry
  • Knowledge of enterprise learning platforms (LMS) and eLearning development tools

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers to create content supporting the global IT learning enterprise.
  • Partner with IT Leads, team, and stakeholders to prepare communications plans for IT and technology product enhancements, new solutions, or other changes impacting the end user experience.
  • Develop end-user communications, such as news articles, internal social community content, email campaigns, and user surveys, for enterprise-wide channels and targeted campaigns.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to inquiries from the company-wide social communities, hosted meetings, and other forums.
  • Partner with the IT learning team to prepare and edit content used in learning offerings, such as live events, learning labs, or eLearning courses, to ensure technical accuracy and end-user understanding.
  • Prepare presentations, facilitate discussions, and/or support project leads with the delivery of presentations in IT-hosted meetings or other forums.
  • Partner with the team to design and develop digital campaigns to be displayed globally across on-site locations.
  • Contribute to IT Continuous Improvement through community listening and measurement.
