About The Position

StraitSys Inc is seeking talented professionals to join their successful and growing team to provide support services to the FBI's Finance and Facilities Division (FFD) Huntsville Strategy Team (HST). StraitSys is tasked with coordinating the realignment of FBI resources to Huntsville, Alabama, as part of the FBI’s Strategic Realignment Initiative (SRI). This position may also explore smaller transition opportunities to Clarksburg, West Virginia, and Pocatello, Idaho. The SRI includes the potential realignment of over 3,000 positions outside the National Capital Region (NCR), with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and creating synergies between FBI programs. Areas of emphasis include evaluating current program structures, relocating existing employees, and recruiting and hiring individuals in the Huntsville area. To ensure successful realignment of resources, the FBI has assembled the HST to focus on change management strategy and Division support. StraitSys is responsible for preparing and assessing the effect of the realignment on the workforce and recommending opportunities for cross-division collaboration. The Intermediate Communications Specialist will serve as a key communications resource supporting HST leadership and program initiatives. This position will lead and coordinate communications activities, contribute to communications and stakeholder engagement strategy, and provide guidance and quality oversight for communications products. The Intermediate Communications Specialist will work closely with leadership, project teams, stakeholders, and junior communications staff to ensure messaging is consistent, timely, accurate, and aligned with organizational and transition objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with four (4) years or more of relevant business analysis, communications, stakeholder engagement, change management, or related professional experience. Additional relevant professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • Five (5) years or more of professional experience involving the comprehension, analysis, interpretation, and communication of complex information.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present information to leadership and stakeholder audiences and respond effectively to sensitive or complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze problems, develop recommendations, and coordinate activities involving multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in communications, public relations, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, change management, or a related field.
  • Experience developing or contributing to strategic communication plans and advising leadership on communication approaches.
  • Experience providing functional leadership, mentoring, work coordination, or quality review for junior communications professionals.
  • Experience supporting federal government programs, preferably within the Department of Justice or FBI environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale organizational change, workforce transition, transformation, or relocation initiatives.
  • Advanced PowerPoint development and executive briefing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, anticipate communications needs, and manage multiple high-priority deliverables and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute communication plans and strategies aligned with organizational priorities, transition objectives, and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide strategic communications support and recommendations to leadership regarding messaging, audiences, communication methods, timing, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead the development of executive-ready PowerPoint briefings, presentations, talking points, messaging, and other stakeholder engagement materials supporting leadership communications and decision-making.
  • Develop, review, edit, and coordinate communication products including announcements, presentations, newsletters, reports, talking points, and other internal and external-facing materials.
  • Lead and maintain communication and stakeholder engagement plans, identifying key audiences, communication needs, messaging priorities, communication channels, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Support leadership in developing messaging frameworks and communication approaches for organizational change, workforce transition, strategic initiatives, and other sensitive or high-visibility activities.
  • Lead or support the development and implementation of branding, awareness, outreach, and marketing campaigns that promote program objectives and stakeholder understanding.
  • Coordinate communications activities supporting stakeholder meetings, workshops, outreach activities, town halls, leadership engagements, and special events, including development and review of supporting materials.
  • Serve as a day-to-day communications resource for leadership and project teams, proactively identifying communication needs and recommending appropriate approaches.
  • Review communications products for quality, consistency, tone, accuracy, and alignment with established messaging and organizational objectives prior to leadership review or distribution.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coordination to junior communications personnel, including assignment support, review of communication products, and assistance establishing priorities and deadlines.
  • Coordinate communications activities across project teams and stakeholders to promote consistent messaging and reduce duplication or communication gaps.
  • Maintain and improve communication products, presentation libraries, templates, SharePoint content, messaging resources, and other stakeholder-facing materials.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication and stakeholder engagement activities and recommend improvements based on stakeholder feedback, emerging needs, and program priorities.
  • Identify communications risks, stakeholder concerns, and emerging issues and elevate recommendations to leadership as appropriate.
