About The Position

DCG is seeking an experienced Project Manager and Communications practitioner to support a high-visibility Federal Law Enforcement Public Affairs team. This role handles sensitive national security, public safety, and law enforcement topics and requires experience navigating dynamic environments where information and priorities move rapidly. The Project Manager is also responsible for developing customer relationships and opportunities for additional support. The full team is a cross-functional mix of communications professionals that spans multimedia production, digital engagement and analytics, requiring a leader who understands each element at the tactical and strategic levels.

Requirements

  • Manage daily operations for a team of communications professionals, overseeing engagement strategy, earned media support, and reporting aligned with priorities set at the Secretary’s level.
  • 6+ years of experience in Communications, with a demonstrated understanding of engagement strategy, multimedia production, media relations and crisis communications
  • 3+ years of experience leading a contractor team and serving as a Government customer’s main point of contact for contractual matters
  • Sound judgement and an authoritative approach to problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Federal Law Enforcement, National Security, or other sensitive subject areas is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations for a team of communications professionals, overseeing engagement strategy, earned media support, and reporting aligned with priorities set at the Secretary’s level.
  • Partner with the customer on media strategy, rapid response operations, workforce communications, and tactical planning for major public safety campaigns.
  • Serve as trusted communications advisor during major national events spanning natural disasters, cybersecurity breaches, and large-scale national events requiring large security presences.
  • Monitor reputational risks and misinformation to ensure the office can proactively respond before issues escalate.
  • Build standard operating procedures, checklists, trackers, and templates that create predictable, repeatable processes for faster responses and reduced rework.
  • Monitor overall contract health, from staff utilization to individual performance, proactively identifying and resolving risks.
  • Identify additional opportunities of support to grow the contract; Develop white papers and lead responses to RFIs that could increase portfolio presence.
