About The Position

RealManage Elevated Onsite is seeking a highly organized, creative, and confident communications professional with substantial experience in communications, digital media, publications, marketing, and community engagement for the position of Communications & Media Director. This role leads the Association's communications and media functions and is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of communications across the Association's digital, print, website, and multimedia platforms. The position communicates owner benefits and responsibilities, Association initiatives, community programs and experiences, and other information impacting the community. The Director also oversees the Association's public-facing brand, voice, digital presence, publications, and overall communications strategy. This role works collaboratively with the Community Relations Director, with both being peer Director-level positions reporting to the General Manager. While communications and media are the primary areas of responsibility, the Communications & Media Director will also actively participate in the development, coordination, promotion, and execution of selected community programs and events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Media, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, digital media, publications, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing communications across multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and content-development skills, with the ability to produce compelling and accurate content efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of communications strategy, brand management, digital communications, marketing, and community engagement.
  • Experience managing websites and other digital communication platforms, including content publishing and community-facing interactive features.
  • Experience developing newsletters, digital campaigns, social media content, presentations, print materials, event promotions, and other publications.
  • Experience supporting, coordinating, or executing community programs and events.
  • Proficiency with communications and design technologies, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, WordPress or similar content-management systems, email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact, Google Analytics or similar analytics tools, social media platforms, and multimedia marketing tools.
  • Experience working with community organizations, residents, volunteers, committees, Boards, or similar stakeholder groups preferred.
  • Ability to design, develop, and execute complex, nuanced, multi-platform communications campaigns.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding sensitive, confidential, or high-visibility communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with residents, volunteers, Board members, department leaders, senior management, vendors, and community partners.
  • Strong leadership, initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Association's overall communications and media function, including strategy, planning, content development, production, and distribution.
  • Develop and manage Association communications across digital, print, email, website, social media, signage, publications, presentations, and other communication channels.
  • Create clear, accurate, engaging, and timely communications regarding Association operations, projects, amenities, governance matters, community initiatives, programs, and events.
  • Develop and maintain an Association-wide communications calendar to coordinate messaging, campaigns, publications, programs, events, and major initiatives.
  • Manage Association newsletters, e-blasts, website content, social media content, flyers, signage, digital graphics, presentations, and other publications.
  • Maintain consistency in Association branding, messaging, tone, visual identity, and publication standards.
  • Serve as a communications resource for the General Manager, Board of Directors, Association departments, and appropriate committees.
  • Provide communications support for Board and Committee initiatives, including presentations, community messaging, notices, and other materials as needed.
  • Guide preparation of the Annual Meeting presentation, slide deck, visual materials, communications, and technical production.
  • Coordinate Board and Committee meeting invitations, including Microsoft Teams credentials and related meeting communications when applicable.
  • Develop communications strategies for major projects, capital improvements, operational changes, Board initiatives, emergency notifications, and other matters requiring coordinated community messaging.
  • Work directly with department directors and managers to obtain accurate information and translate operational information into clear, resident-friendly communications.
  • Secure, organize, maintain, and archive community photographs, videos, graphics, publications, and other media assets, including appropriate permissions for publication and use.
  • Maintain an organized digital media library for Association photographs, videos, publications, branding materials, and other creative assets.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and content manager for the Association's community website and other resident-facing digital communication platforms.
  • Maintain website content to ensure information is current, accurate, organized, accessible, and consistent with Association communication and branding standards.
  • Monitor and manage resident-facing website feeds, comments, questions, and other interactive features.
  • Respond to routine resident communications within the scope of the position and coordinate operational, compliance, maintenance, financial, amenity, or other department-specific matters with the appropriate Association department.
  • Maintain ownership of the communication process when matters are referred to another department, ensuring appropriate follow-up and a timely, professional resident-facing response.
  • Manage and maintain the Association's social media presence and other applicable digital channels.
  • Monitor website activity, digital engagement, communication performance, and resident feedback to identify trends and opportunities to improve communication and the overall resident experience.
  • Evaluate emerging communication technologies, platforms, and digital trends and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Lead the communications, media, promotional, digital, and branding strategy for Association programs and events in coordination with the Community Relations Director.
  • Develop and manage communications campaigns designed to increase resident awareness of and participation in Association programs, events, amenities, and community initiatives.
  • Oversee program and event communications, including announcements, website content, registration communications, email campaigns, social media, promotional materials, photography, video, and post-event communications.
  • Ensure program and event messaging is accurate, timely, consistent with Association branding, and effectively coordinated across all communication channels.
  • Coordinate with the Community Relations Director to obtain program and event information, timelines, registration details, and other content necessary for effective resident communications.
  • Provide communications and media expertise to the Lifestyle Committee for programs, events, and other resident engagement initiatives.
  • Develop communications plans and promotional strategies for signature events and major community programs, including pre-event, onsite, and post-event communications as appropriate.
  • Attend selected programs and events when necessary to support communications, media coverage, photography, video, content development, or other Communications & Media responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the Community Relations Director and other Association departments when program or event needs intersect with the Communications & Media function.
  • Provide limited operational support for programs and events when necessary based on Association needs and as directed by the General Manager; however, primary responsibility for program development, event planning, and event execution remains with the Community Relations function.
