About The Position

The role: Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience through government, public policy, or communications? Business Oregon, the state’s economic development agency, is seeking a Communications and Marketing Intern within Arts and Culture Division. Join a dedicated, positive group of individuals located throughout the state who are working to support arts and culture in Oregon. This is a full-time internship position starting in June 2026 and continuing through September 2026. The Arts & Culture Division of Business Oregon, through the Oregon Arts Commission and Oregon Cultural Trust, works to enhance the quality of life for all Oregonians through supporting arts, culture, history, heritage, and humanities in every corner of the state. This takes place through offering grant funding, fostering collaboration and celebrating the state’s vibrant cultural diversity, which is a cornerstone of communities. As an intern, you'll work under the supervision of the Arts & Culture senior program manager, and various staff within the Arts & Culture section. You will perform graphic design, website content refinement, communications, and special project functions. Requirements

  • Students in their junior and/or senior year of college and graduate students in their first or second year at the time of hire (June 2026).
  • Experience with website management (e.g., WordPress)
  • Experience in basic graphic design and/or video tools
  • Experience analyzing information, conducting research, and summarizing findings clearly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (or similar tools)
  • Understanding of, or interest in, nonprofits, cultural organizations, or community work

  • Developing programmatic toolkits for websites (Percent for Art, Arts Learning, Cultural Districts, Technical Assistance for Cultural Nonprofits)
