About The Position

This role is for a Communications Manager focused on driving employee engagement efforts. The Communications Manager will act as a liaison between leadership and the workforce, translating complex ground vehicle portfolios and business priorities into compelling narratives. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator who excels in a fast-paced environment, manages competing priorities effectively, and delivers messages through appropriate channels. The position supports a hybrid work environment and is ideal for candidates based in or near York, PA, or Sterling Heights, MI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or English, and six years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of AP Style and corporate journalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Attentive to detail with solid editing skills.
  • Experience building relationships with diverse and geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders.
  • Internal communications and stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to drive positive engagement from a diversified and widespread workforce.
  • Leadership experience (direct people manager or project team lead).
  • Must reside within commuting distance of York, PA or Sterling Heights, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex technical and program updates into clear, engaging content for employees.
  • Partner with program teams to identify and share internal milestones.
  • Develop a broad range of internal communications materials, including articles, talking points, intranet content, and event collateral.
  • Create and manage long-term communications plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate with the external communications team to ensure internal dissemination of major company news.
  • Prepare internal briefing materials for leaders.
  • Lead communications for ground vehicle products, small campaigns, and events.
  • Support senior leaders with coaching and preparation for industry events.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and standard deliverables.
  • Manage internal digital channels for timely and relevant updates.
  • Support internal recognition campaigns.
  • Track content performance and use data to improve reach and engagement.
  • Tailor communications for different employee audiences.
  • Contribute to reactive communications and issues response.
  • Gather and incorporate employee feedback to refine messaging.
  • Lead effective meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support internal thought leadership initiatives.
  • Highlight employee expertise through internal spotlights and profiles.
