Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from Wednesday, May 26 – Friday, July 30, 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience solving real-world problems. The communications intern will work closely with team members to write and edit a variety of materials to support internal communications and media relations. This individual will also assist with ongoing programs and special events.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Journalism, English, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Business
- Strong organizational skills with consistent attention to details and deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Strong collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AP Style
Responsibilities
- Write and edit a variety of communication pieces, including intranet and newsroom content, press releases, social media posts, posters, scripts, brochures and other company collateral
- Work closely with communications staff to coordinate programs and projects
- Assist with special event planning and execution
- Must meet or exceed department attendance and timeliness requirements
- Must work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with others
