Legal Aid DC is seeking a spring communications intern to join its Development Department. The 12-week internship takes place January 8, 2027, through April 2, 2027, and interns should expect to work 12 hours per week. Interns work from Legal Aid’s offices in NW DC, with the option to perform some work remotely if approved by their supervisor. The intern receives substantive assignments intended to have an immediate impact on clients. The Communications Intern contributes to Legal Aid’s communications channels—including its website, social media, email newsletters, and printed materials—to raise awareness of services, share information and resources, advocate for policy change, and support fundraising. The position reports to the Communications Director and is part of the Development team. The internship offers a scholarship of up to $2,650 for the 12-week term. Interns are not eligible for the scholarship if they receive outside internship funding or participate through a school program that precludes payment.
