About The Position

The Communications Coordinator supports the organization's internal and external communication efforts by creating engaging content, managing digital communications, and promoting programs, events, and initiatives. This position plays a key role in maintaining brand consistency, enhancing audience engagement, and ensuring effective communication across multiple platforms.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
  • One to three years of communications, marketing, public relations, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit newsletters, website content, email communications, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Ensure communications align with organizational branding and messaging standards.
  • Proofread materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Manage and update social media accounts and content calendars.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
  • Assist with website updates and content management.
  • Track communication metrics and prepare basic performance reports.
  • Support marketing efforts for events, programs, and organizational initiatives.
  • Develop flyers, graphics, and promotional materials using design software such as Canva.
  • Assist with event communications before, during, and after organizational events.
  • Capture and organize photos and other media for communication purposes.
  • Maintain communication databases and email distribution lists.
  • Conduct research for communication and marketing projects.
  • Provide general administrative support to the communications team as needed.
