About The Position

The Communications Coordinator (Coordinator) is a member of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County's Marketing and Communications Department responsible for creating and managing digital content that advances the Council's mission and promotes Palm Beach County's arts and cultural sector. The Coordinator supports the Council's social media channels, email marketing, and website, and will also do administrative work to support the department. This position requires excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging digital trends.
  • Experience with website management, preferably WordPress.
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms, preferably Constant Contact.
  • Ability to interpret analytics and prepare performance reports.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Basic photography and video editing skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • One to three years of experience in communications, marketing, social media, digital content, public relations, or a related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of or interest in the arts, culture, tourism, or nonprofit sector preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, writes, edits, and publishes engaging content for the Council's social media channels, website, email communications, and other digital platforms, as well as monitoring, responding and measuring results.
  • Collaborates with team members to execute the Council's email marketing strategy, including drafting, designing, scheduling, and analyzing campaigns.
  • Maintains and updates content across the Council's website, including event listings, news, visual and other digital assets.
  • Captures and edits photography and short-form video content for social media, events, exhibitions, and other Council initiatives.
  • Supports the Council's cultural tourism marketing plan by assisting with promotions, activations, campaigns, influencer familiarization tours, and tourism-related digital content.
  • Assists with exhibition openings, community programs, media events, and other special events, including occasional evening and weekend assignments.
  • Provides general administrative support to the Marketing and Communications Department, which may include processing invoices and maintaining department records.
  • Participates in staff and department meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
