About The Position

The Communications Assistant will assist the department in driving a strategic message and supporting programs that have a positive impact on the Las Vegas Raiders. The Communications Assistant will report to the Vice President, Communications and should excel within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 1-2 years of relevant communications experience, preferentially within the sports industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite programs.
  • Proficiency in social media applications.
  • Strong understanding of the media relations/public relations industry.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with football personnel as well as media at large.
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and competently to a variety of different audiences on a diverse range of topics.
  • Ability to create innovative and effective solutions to multi-layered tasks and problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign and proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of football-related statistics, analytics tools and social media landscape.
  • Ability to interact positively with individuals throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist communications staff in coordinating player interviews with local, national and internal media.
  • Oversee recording, transcribing and distribution of press conference transcripts provided by the department.
  • Maintain and update the Raiders NFL Online Media Guide (OMG), with transactions, transcripts, and any other pertinent information.
  • Oversee Daily News Clips and Daily TV Clips, compiling relevant articles and broadcast clips for distribution to team leadership.
  • Assist with the research, writing and editing process for all football communications publications including the media guide, weekly releases, game programs, flip cards, etc.
  • Assist in the writing and editing of player bios throughout the season.
  • Assist with set up and tear down of podium/backdrop for press conferences throughout training camp and the regular season.
  • Escort media to all practices and assist the communications staff with monitoring media during open practice periods.
  • Support the communications staff during NFL mandated media availabilities including weekly press conferences, locker room availabilities, production meetings, etc.
  • Oversee Raiders game day staff and serve as liaison between the communications staff and the game day staff.
  • Lead the set up of the press box and photo workroom for home games, with assistance from Raiders game day staff.
  • Assist communications staff in all aspects of the credentialing process for all home games
  • All other duties as assigned.
