About The Position

Under the direction of the Communications Officer, the assistant participates in the smooth functioning of the unit's operations. This role involves posting news items, visuals, and events online to the ISoN website, TV screens, Envoke, and social media platforms, as well as updating existing website content. The position also provides ongoing logistical event support, including coordination, communications, photography and videography, and set-up. Additionally, the assistant will provide general administrative support, including shifts at the main reception desk on the 18th floor. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4. Requirements

  • English-French bilingualism
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, website maintenance, social media
  • Skills in searching multiple types of information environments
  • Education or experience in one of the following domains: communications, library and information studies, knowledge management, web systems, usability or marketing
  • Must be Work Study approved (proof will be required)
  • Skills in searching multiple types of information environments
  • Familiarity with marketing email platforms
  • Basic familiarity with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • Knowledge of English: Level #4 on a scale of 0-4
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 Years Related Experience

Responsibilities

  • Posting news items, visuals and events online to the ISoN website, TV screens, Envoke, and social media platforms
