About The Position

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator at the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) supports the development and execution of communications, creative development, media relations, and partnership initiatives that advance CORE’s mission and strategic priorities. Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs and Donor Family Services, this position develops and manages content across multiple platforms, supports internal and external communications, coordinates media outreach, and assists with the creation of campaigns, publications, and communication materials that strengthen CORE’s visibility, reputation, and impact. The coordinator gathers and shares compelling stories, photos, and videos that highlight the impact of donation and transplantation while identifying, developing, and supporting strategic partnerships that advance CORE’s mission. Working with corporate, civic, healthcare, educational, and community organizations, the coordinator provides communications support, campaign integration, branded materials, and engagement strategies that expand awareness, strengthen community relationships, and increase donor designation opportunities throughout CORE’s service area. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, creative, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. This position requires regular travel throughout CORE’s service area and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in communications, public relations, media relations, creative development, or a related field, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in content development, creative project management, brand management, and multimedia communications across print, digital, social media, video, and web platforms.
  • Strong analytical, creative, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing strategic communications materials and coordinating projects with internal stakeholders and external creative partners is highly desirable.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Requires regular travel throughout CORE’s service area, occasional overnight travel, evening and weekend work.
  • Ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to CORE’s mission and the advancement of organ, tissue, and cornea donation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in graphic design, photography, videography, website management, and social media management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, edit, design, and distribute newsletters, publications, web content, social media content, brochures, posters, educational materials, presentations, collateral materials, and other communication tools for public and professional audiences.
  • Create compelling visual and written content that supports CORE’s brand, marketing objectives, and strategic priorities across digital, print, and multimedia platforms.
  • Gather and share impactful stories, photos, and videos that highlight donor families, transplant recipients, volunteers, community partners, team members, and the impact of donation and transplantation.
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and quality across all communication materials and platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to develop creative assets and content that support campaigns, events, educational initiatives, and organizational goals.
  • Assist in the development and execution of public relations strategies, communications plans, and media outreach efforts that support CORE’s mission, strategic initiatives, campaigns, announcements, and events.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, statements, and other external communications materials.
  • Support media relations activities by coordinating media opportunities, preparing press materials, responding to media inquiries, and helping build and maintain relationships with reporters, influencers, and community leaders.
  • Monitor media coverage and public perception and assist with communications responses to public inquiries, concerns, and issues as directed.
  • Support internal communications initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, awareness, and understanding of organizational priorities, programs, and accomplishments.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns, donor designation initiatives, community outreach efforts, and organizational events.
  • Develop branded collateral, promotional materials, messaging, and communication strategies that support CORE programs, campaigns, and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels and activities.
  • Identify, develop, and support strategic partnerships that expand awareness, strengthen community engagement, and advance donor designation goals.
  • Provide communications support, promotional materials, messaging guidance, and campaign integration to maximize partnership engagement and impact.
  • Collaborate with partners to expand awareness of organ, tissue, and cornea donation and increase donor designation opportunities throughout CORE's service area.
  • Develop and implement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of communications, marketing campaigns, partnership initiatives, programs, materials, and events.
  • Monitor communications performance, public perception, and engagement metrics and provide reports and recommendations to support departmental goals and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with budget planning, tracking, and adherence to departmental budget guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Public Affairs and Donor Family Services, Community Outreach staff, Donor Family Services staff, and other departments to support organizational priorities and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support communications responses to public inquiries, concerns, issues, and other stakeholder needs as directed.
  • Perform additional job-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Public Affairs and Donor Family Services and/or CORE’s President/CEO.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a strong commitment to CORE’s mission, vision, and values while serving as a positive ambassador for the organization.
