About The Position

Hosted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office (MPTF Office) is the only United Nations unit exclusively dedicated to the design and administration of multi-stakeholder pooled financing instruments. Since 2004, it has supported over 200 UN-implemented pooled funds, providing an integrated platform of inter-agency pooled fund services to help UN organizations and partners make fast and efficient progress towards collective outcomes, like the 2030 Agenda. The MPTF Office’s cumulative portfolio is close to $20 billion in total, with more than $1 billion transferred in 2024 to participating UN organizations, through more than 100 active pooled financing mechanisms. The MPTF Office’s trustee and fund design and administration service is a standard-setter in the UN System - professionalized, highly transparent and firewalled from all UN implementing entities. The MPTF Office has put in place a number of tools and systems to support its transparent and accessible fund administration services such as its digital platform, the MPTF Office Gateway. As a shared UN service provider, the MPTF Office operates in a distinct and dedicated business unit. It provides an integrated service platform that, in addition to core trust fund design and administration functions, provides complimentary services to users like data analytics, research administration, and knowledge management. The Communications and Digital Analyst contribute to the development and dissemination of key communication assets and digitally enhances the visibility and impact of the office’s communication initiatives. This role will focus on editorial and technical backs-stopping for the MPTFO Gateway website, maintaining key communication platforms and supporting various communications campaigns.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Communication, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Sciences, or relevant Social Sciences. OR A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Applicants with Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the area of communications, public relations, advocacy or related area is required.
  • Fluency in English is required;

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience in managing web Content Management Systems (CMS), with a strong preference and focus on Drupal
  • Demonstrated experience managing professional social media platforms (such as LinkedIn and X) and coordinating digital outreach initiatives.
  • Experience in the use of software packages MS Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Planner etc).
  • Familiarity or experience with utilizing AI tools, prompt engineering, or managing datasets for digital validation
  • Prior experience working within the UN system or an international development organization
  • Experience, knowledge or understanding of pooled funding mechanisms
  • Proven familiarity with the MPTFO Gateway platform or similar platforms
  • Experience and knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) to present fund results dynamically
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP systems, web-based internal management applications, and AI-enabled programmes is desirable to support the integration of digital tools, data flows, and management processes across platforms.
  • Knowledge of another UN language (French) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support efforts to promote and disseminate the Fund Administration System Plus (FAS) modality;
  • Coordinate efforts for the development of standardized project templates in the Fund Management Platform (FMP) and Fund reporting via FAS to systematize data capturing;
  • Under guidance of Fund Secretariat Support Officer, provide technical support in identifying and articulating business requirements/specifications to enhance the digitalization of the MPTFO Gateway Integrated Platform (GWIP) including the website;
  • Support the development of an AI agent trained on fund result data; and support the digital validation of results with funds;
  • Support the expansion of the existing learning GWIP toolkit for internal users and external stakeholders, including regular enhancements, updates, and the development of new resources to reflect evolving platform features and functionality. The toolkit should be made available both through the MPTFO Operational Manual and the Learning Center on the MPTFO Gateway website.
  • Support back-end functionality of comms-oriented MPTFO Gateway pages; and explore options for elaborating fund results (connected with the FAS results page), across the Gateway (including new microsite);
  • Support the development of data visualization methods for disseminating fund results (see related outputs above);
  • Coordinate fund narratives, bi-monthly blog posts and practitioners’ interviews pieces, highlighting best practices and insights from pooled funding; upload, maintain, update and organize related fund documents and content on MPTFO Gateway site.
  • Develop and coordinate engaging social media content for X, LinkedIn on a quarterly basis to amplify pooled fund initiatives and scale digital outreach, aligning with SDG-of-the-month and UN Secretariat Grid planning.
  • Support Communications & Partnership Specialist with editorial and administrative support on Annual Report (Q1-Q2) and the Financing of the UNDS report (Q2-Q3).
  • Serve as a digital communications focal point, managing the MPTFO inbox to streamline digital information flow and track partner inquiry trends;
  • Under guidance of the Communications and Partnership Specialist, identify relevant partners from key pooled funds and liaise with them to cross-check and validate AI-organized results and collate inputs for the Pooled Funding Results Campaign and other visibility initiatives;
  • Maintain and optimize digital relationship management databases (e.g., CRM), tracking web traffic, and campaign analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct basic partnership analyses to support reporting and strategic outreach.
  • Identify and synthesize best practices and lessons learned directly linked to programme country goals and activities
  • The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
