About The Position

The Communication Systems Engineer I researches, designs, develops, tests, and oversees the installation of electrical communication systems at Kennedy Space Center. This includes cabling, mission imagery systems, transmission systems, and voice systems. This is a represented staff position with the IBEW Union.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required
Strong understanding of Engineering principles and technologies.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Working knowledge of computer systems and computer administration.
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
Must be able to pass an initial and random drug test.
Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Design communications systems that support a wide variety of existing and future services as requested by the customer.
Collaborate directly with AEGIS product team members, as required, to provide a comprehensive solution to customer requests, including standard work orders, real-time repair requests, and operational support requests.
Develop solutions to routine problems of limited scope under close supervision of engineering lead/senior engineer team members.
Process work documentation through prescribed processing software to provide work continuity, visibility and tracking to the customer and AEGIS team.
