About The Position

The Chicago Campus Communications Graduate Assistant supports the development, coordination, and assessment of student communications on behalf of Chicago Campus staff and faculty. The Graduate Assistant will draft and distribute student-facing communications, coordinate communication across multiple platforms, monitor campus communication channels, and help maintain an organized communication calendar. The Graduate Assistant will also track student engagement with communications, including email open and read rates when available, to help identify communication trends and opportunities to improve how the Chicago Campus reaches and engages students. The position works collaboratively with campus staff, faculty, and university partners to ensure communications are timely, accurate, consistent, student-centered, and aligned with university brand and identity guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and coordinate student-facing communications in alignment with university brand and identity guidelines, ensuring messages are accurate, clear, consistent, and aligned with Chicago Campus priorities.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of communications across multiple platforms, including email, text messaging, digital signage, newsletters, and social media.
  • Maintain a Chicago Campus communication calendar to coordinate student communications, reduce duplication, and support consistent and timely messaging.
  • Track available communication metrics, including email open rates, click rates, and other indicators of student engagement, and prepare brief reports identifying communication trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor Chicago Campus social media accounts and communication channels to support consistency and coordination across campus messaging.
  • Manage and monitor Chicago Campus general email accounts, respond to routine inquiries when appropriate, and route messages to the appropriate university offices or staff members for follow-up.
