About The Position

Aleut is seeking a creative and motivated Communications & Marketing Intern to support communications and marketing initiatives. This 10-week summer internship starting on or around June 1, 2026, will provide hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and digital projects while working in a professional work environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including speech writing, proper grammar, spelling, editing and proofreading.
  • Strong digital literacy skills, efficient in Microsoft Suite, and familiar with other common digital tools
  • Good interpersonal and public contact skills; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff of Aleut and affiliated-company employees; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • Good organizational skills; ability to solve problems and exercise good judgement.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highschool Diploma or GED.
  • Enrolled in a continuing education program, such as a degree, vocational or certification program.
  • Aleut Corporation Shareholder and/or descendent.

Nice To Haves

  • Junior undergraduate, Senior undergraduate, or Graduate student.
  • Strong interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, writing, or web development.

Responsibilities

  • Embraces the mission, values and strategic goals of Aleut.
  • Complete a learning summary presentation to be presented to Aleut management upon completion of internship.
  • Support Aleut Communications and Marketing teams with day-to-day activities.
  • Assist with creation and editing of marketing and communications materials.
  • Support basic graphic design, web content updates, and digital media projects.
  • Assist with internal and external communications initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members in a professional work environment.
  • Identify and participate in a goal setting process with direct supervisor to determine learning objectives for the duration of the internship.
  • Observe and assist with department programs, services, research, and other tasks.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as appropriate to acquire knowledge and skills within the department.
  • Organize and assist in implementing strategies for special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
