About The Position

The Commodity Manager is responsible for independently managing assigned commodity categories to ensure supplier performance, cost optimization, and supply continuity. This role applies in-depth procurement and market knowledge to develop and execute sourcing strategies, solve complex cost and supply challenges, and support business objectives through cross-functional collaboration. This position reports to the Director, Procurement and is part of the Procurement Team located in Cincinnati, Ohio and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • 4-8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or related operations roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing suppliers and supporting sourcing or cost-reduction initiatives
  • Experience leading or supporting supplier negotiations and commercial agreements
  • Proficiency using data, KPIs, Excel, and ERP systems to support decision-making

Nice To Haves

  • Experience sourcing medical device components or assemblies
  • Experience applying Lean principles or structured problem-solving tools in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage assigned commodities, including supplier performance, cost, and risk management
  • Develop and execute sourcing and supplier strategies aligned with operational and business objectives
  • Identify and deliver cost savings initiatives while monitoring market trends and key cost drivers
  • Lead and support supplier negotiations and contractual agreements
  • Act as a procurement resource for cross-functional partners and less-experienced colleagues
