Commodity Manager for Professional Services, Procurement

About The Position

Wolfspeed is seeking a Commodity Manager (CM) to join the Business Support Services team within Procurement. This individual contributor position is a strong fit for an experienced indirect procurement professional who takes initiative, thrives on complexity, and moves work forward through influence rather than authority. The CM will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for procurement of Professional Services (PS), Consulting, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and Staff Augmentation, and will interact with a broad cross-section of the organization. This individual will facilitate the supplier selection process, ensure alignment between supplier deliverables and business needs, and provide the structure and momentum that stakeholders rely on, including bringing clarity to engagements where the path forward requires definition. The role involves managing requests from the business, creating sourcing strategies, identifying and cultivating strategic suppliers, supporting compliance with procurement policies, identifying cost avoidance and reduction opportunities, and owning the full contract lifecycle for PS agreements.

Requirements

A BS or BA in an analytical field of study, or equivalent work experience demonstrating analytical and negotiation skills.
Five (5) or more years of Procurement, Sourcing, or Contract Management experience focused on Professional Services (buyer’s perspective) or equivalent Customer Service or Contract Management experience on the supplier side within BPO, Managed Service Provider (MSP), or staffing environments.

Experience managing the full RFX process, either as the buyer developing and issuing solicitations or as a supplier responding to them, specifically in a PS context.
Working knowledge of SAP Business Network (formerly Ariba).
Familiarity with contract language common to PS engagements, including provisions for commercial terms and intellectual property ownership.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated success (3+ years) in directly negotiating any combination of Consulting Agreements, Staff Augmentation Agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs) with Statements of Work (SOWs), and Engagement Letters.
Proven success negotiating one or more large BPO contracts and managing the resulting engagement from the customer or buyer perspective.
Successful experience working within or alongside an MSP program for contingent workforce or staff augmentation engagements from either the buyer or supplier side.

Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for procurement of Professional Services (PS), Consulting, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and Staff Augmentation.
Facilitate the supplier selection process.
Ensure alignment between supplier deliverables and business needs.
Create sourcing strategies that address pain points and optimize the supply base.
Identify strategic suppliers and cultivate relationships.
Support compliance with procurement policies and processes.
Identify and pursue cost avoidance and cost reduction opportunities.
Own and manage the Requests for Information, Quote, or Proposal (RFX) process from start to finish.
Serve as the primary facilitator across the full contract lifecycle for PS agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs).
Own commercial terms review, propose and negotiate revisions, solicit and integrate input from stakeholders and Legal, coordinate with suppliers, manage timelines, and oversee renewals and expirations.
