About The Position

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is seeking a Commodity Buyer responsible for managing strategic and operational purchasing activities for assigned automotive commodities, including electrical and mechanical components and systems. This role focuses on supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance management, and ensuring continuity of supply to support production requirements. The Commodity Buyer will lead procurement activities across the full sourcing lifecycle, maintain strong supplier relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Materials teams to drive cost competitiveness, supply chain efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate should have proven work experience within the automotive, transportation, aerospace OEM or Tier 1 sector.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in purchasing or sourcing within the automotive, transportation or aerospace industries
  • Experience in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Experience in managing forecasts, material planning, purchase orders, cost down initiatives and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Ability to take ownership and manage the purchasing process from end to end
  • Experience in presenting information to management & cross-functionally
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in working with ERP software, ideally SAP

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Engineering is preferred
  • Supply Chain accreditation or working towards is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned commodity portfolio for cost & delivery
  • Lead supplier sourcing, RFQ management, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
  • Drive annual cost reduction and VA/VE initiatives through supplier collaboration, process optimization, and commercial negotiations
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with company objectives for cost, quality, delivery, and risk mitigation
  • Maintain and strengthen supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance metrics including quality, delivery, and responsiveness
  • Work cross-functionally to support supplier development initiatives, ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and EDI requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Materials teams during new program launches, engineering changes, and production ramp-ups
  • Analyze market trends, raw material impacts, and industry conditions to support sourcing and negotiation strategies
  • Manage purchase orders, pricing updates, commercial disputes, and cost recovery activities related to supplier quality and delivery issues
  • Monitor forecasts and inventory requirements in coordination with Materials Planning to ensure uninterrupted production supply
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to supplier performance, cost savings, and procurement effectiveness
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to improve operational efficiency and reduce total cost
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, customer requirements, and automotive industry standards
