About The Position

The Commodity Business Analyst will be an active participant in forecasting future market conditions, part of integrating implications to sales, production plans and strategy against these views, and supports opportunities to improve Wood Products Commodity profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field: examples are Finance, Engineering, Business, Statistics
  • Expert user of analytical tools, including ability to mine and manipulate data via Excel, Power BI, statistical software, and linear programs.
  • 4+ years work-related experience
  • 2+ years of Power BI experience with proven ability to design and deliver advanced, business-critical dashboards and scalable data models
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, presentation and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales Leaders and Sales teams to establish near & long-term market outlooks based on internal views, 3rd party reports and data, and overall market analysis.
  • Ability to understand and quantify full cost of business and overall customer programs, rebates, discounts, promotions, etc.
  • Provide reporting for sales teams, specific market opportunities, and sales leadership.
  • Translate view of future market conditions to future customer needs.
  • Work with key business leaders to achieve this alignment.
  • providing analytical support and process oversight to meet customer needs and maximize returns.
  • Work with Marketing/Sales/Manufacturing teams providing analysis to evaluate opportunities to improve Wood Products’ and individual business line profitability.
  • Develop metrics and appropriate tracking tools including win/loss, account profitability, account planning and sales effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance to the sales team aligning expectations and results to achieve business goals - Identify and evaluate opportunities across the business to align resources and activities to key business goals.
  • Participate and potentially lead evaluations on specific opportunities within the wood products business.
  • The role may also be involved in validating potential solutions with customers/users and communicating potential enhancements/ alternatives.
  • Involvement in monthly S&OP planning and prep work
  • Drive to improve the productivity and competitive position of our business through continuous improvement & innovation.
