About The Position

The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ebony E. Prophet-Bullock, Ed.D., is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION BILINGUAL SPEECH - LANGUAGE EVALUATOR. Requirements

• New York State permanent teacher certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled and must have a bilingual extension.
• New York State Licensure and Registration as a speech-language pathologist are required.
• Candidates must know ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, Medicaid Regulations, and Federal and State regulations of Speech-Language Pathology.
• Candidates must have an application knowledge of various Speech Language assessment tools.
• Candidates must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations and consultations
• Administering Speech-Language evaluations
• Completing Frontline IEP input
• Writing reports required by the Committee on Special Education
• Assisting the CSE in the appropriate development and implementation of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
• Inputting Medicaid billing into the electronic management system
• Attending CSE meetings
• Consultation with other professional disciplines, vendors, parents, and school personnel.
• Any additional assigned duties deemed necessary and appropriate
