The Commissioning Test Engineer is responsible for leading the execution of complex elements of the systematic testing program that demonstrates facility systems perform as designed and are ready for safe operation. Working with considerable independence and under the general direction of the Commissioning Manager, this role leads development of test procedures, performs and directs component and system testing, documents results, and verifies that mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control, and process systems meet design specifications, while serving as a technical resource for less experienced engineers. This position requires the discipline and mindset expected of nuclear professionals, including a strong questioning attitude, appreciation for Conduct of Operations principles, and rigorous attention to detail in every test step, measurement, and record. This role also leads system turnover activities from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations, mentoring less experienced engineers and working closely with Responsible Engineers, Operations personnel, Maintenance craft, and QA inspectors to resolve complex technical issues.
