About The Position

The Commissioning Support Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing commissioning activities for nuclear power plant systems and equipment. This role ensures that programs and processes are established to support a commissioning test program in compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and nuclear quality standards. You will also support development of Administrative and Test Procedures and turnover documentation. You will play a critical role in plant in the deployment of future AP1000 projects. You will work fully remote within the United States. Occasion travel may be necessary. You will report to the Commission Manager. You will not have managerial responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • You must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Experience with commissioning, system testing, or plant operations
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant systems (e.g., reactor systems, I&C, electrical distribution, HVAC)
  • Familiarity with nuclear codes and standards (ASME, IEEE, NRC regulations)
  • Understanding of quality assurance programs (NQA-1)
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, instrumentation and control diagrams and technical drawings
  • Strong commitment to safety and procedural compliance
  • Analytical thinking and root cause analysis
  • Project coordination and time management
  • Support a cross-functional team.

  • Work under strict regulatory and quality frameworks

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience in nuclear power plants or highly regulated industries
  • 3 years of experience with startup testing, system turnover, or outage support
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and digital systems
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • 3 years of experience with radiological work controls and nuclear site requirements
  • Familiarity with risk assessments and safety analysis processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement processes delivery processes for future AP1000 plant deployment.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and test protocols for nuclear systems and components
  • Develop pre-operational and startup testing, including system turnover packages following engineering specifications
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure readiness for commissioning
  • Identify, document, and resolve deficiencies, non-conformances
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, NQA-1 quality requirements, and regulatory bodies (e.g., NRC, IAEA)
  • Review and verify system design documents, drawings, and specifications
