About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects in Northern Indiana. This role will lead field commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated building systems to ensure safe, reliable, and fully functional system turnover. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on commissioning experience in complex commercial or mission-critical environments and the ability to coordinate multiple trades, vendors, and stakeholders through structured testing, startup, and validation processes.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience in commissioning or systems startup roles
  • Strong experience in mission-critical, data center, industrial, or large commercial environments
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems commissioning processes
  • Familiarity with integrated systems testing (IST) and end-to-end system validation
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, documentation, and quality control
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and commissioning teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with commissioning agents and owner representatives preferred
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting data center projects, large infrastructure builds, or high-reliability environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated systems
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and testing protocols
  • Coordinate with general contractors, commissioning agents, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Oversee system startup, pre-functional checks, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing
  • Support commissioning of critical infrastructure including power distribution, cooling systems, controls, and monitoring systems
  • Ensure all systems meet design intent, performance criteria, and operational requirements
  • Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, reports, and turnover packages
  • Track punch lists, deficiencies, and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Coordinate scheduling of commissioning activities to align with construction progress and project milestones
  • Participate in OAT (Owner Acceptance Testing) and final system handover activities
  • Enforce safety standards during all commissioning and energized testing activities
  • Provide technical leadership and field problem-solving during startup and integration phases
