The Commissioning Manager leads and owns the commissioning (CX) program across all five levels for mission-critical facilities, primarily data centers. The role requires technical expertise in major electrical and mechanical systems, including medium- and high-voltage equipment, BAS/BMS/EPMS procedures, load banking, NETA testing, HVAC test-and-balance, and sequences of operation. The Manager ensures systems are installed, integrated, and operating according to contract requirements. The Manager coordinates vendors and third-party teams, develops and manages detailed commissioning schedules, and serves as the primary on-site leader for commissioning activities and meetings. Day-to-day work includes planning pre-energization inspections with QA/QC, enforcing LOTO and safety protocols with EHS and field supervision, reviewing commissioning scripts and technical documentation, and tracking functional defects through resolution. The role also reviews third-party test reports, manages third-party commissioning teams, and uses automated commissioning management software to document issues, meeting minutes, and deliverables. Strong subcontractor oversight and quality-audit skills are needed to ensure workmanship, schedules, and deliverables comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a commissioning subject-matter expert who coaches project teams, reinforces quality and safety, and drives commissioning activities to timely, compliant closure. A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or qualifying equivalent experience, is required. The position does not consider applicants who currently or in the future require company employment sponsorship.
