In this role, you will be responsible for startup planning and activities on major projects. You will coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, and clients to leverage diverse technical team skills to integrate the startup plan. You will identify risks and trends, manage progress reporting, and proactively course correct to ensure goals, schedules, and requirements are met. Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience
  • At least 10 Years of experience as Project Start Manager bin big and complex projects
  • Good knowledge of Procedure and Commissioning Process, including FAT Test, Construction Verification, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and the handover process to the Client
  • Experience with the SCommissioning Schedule process and coordination with Project Control, Engineering and Construction. Develop a Leve 5 commissioning Schedule
  • Proven experience with the HV / MV electrical System energization, Knowledge of the process, testing required for different main equipment (HV/M Switchgear GIS type, Power Transformer, protection Relay, Scada Testing, MCC)
  • Experience Directing and leading field work teams
  • Previous experience working with Bechtel CSU Procedures.
  • Safety Culture focus on the Bechtel Policy.
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineer, with strong experience on the CSU Bechtel Process and Procedures.
  • Leadership skills and teamwork builder

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the startup and operations activities on one or multiple large complex projects or for a global business unit office
  • Plans and manages startup assignments on a major project on which there are unique problems in schedule, finance, construction, or design, or on multiple smaller projects as assigned
  • Possesses technical responsibility for organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments
  • Makes day-to-day decisions within assigned area or project and makes recommendations to department or project management regarding policy procedure
  • Reviews project designs and makes recommendation of changes to design so that the project(s) are safe and operable
  • Responsible for oversight and coordination of multiple projects within the global business unit
  • Manages and monitors assigned office or project startup and operations which may include review of design for plant operability, preparation of operations manuals, coordination with construction during field check out and pre-commissioning and testing and execution of the startup in the field
  • Coordinates the formulation of and recommends to departmental management policies, procedures, plans and programs within assigned office or project
  • Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned engineers, estimates staffing needs and schedules, and assigns work to meet completion dates
