About The Position

The Commissioning Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the commissioning process across construction projects to ensure all building systems are installed, tested, and operate according to design intent and client requirements. This role serves as the central point of coordination between project teams, subcontractors, design consultants, and third-party commissioning agents, ensuring seamless system turnover and successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in either electrical, Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP construction and commissioning, with at least 3 years in mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex project activities

Responsibilities

  • Primary POC on project for all Commissioning related activities.
  • Lead the commissioning process from preconstruction through project closeout for assigned projects
  • Develop and manage project-specific commissioning plans, schedules, and scopes of work
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with subcontractors, vendors, and the owner’s third-party commissioning authority.
  • Ensure proper installation, startup, and functional testing of all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and controls)
  • Facilitate and oversee equipment inspections and pre-functional testing
  • Ensure adherence to owner requirements, NEC, ASHRAE standards, and local energy codes.
  • Track and manage commissioning issues, deficiencies, and resolution through completion
  • Review and verify installation checklists for all HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Support project teams in achieving substantial completion and final acceptance milestones.

  • Support energization activities and ensure full compliance with NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and safety procedures.
  • Schedule vendor pre-startup and startup activities.
  • Facilitate commissioning meetings and walkthroughs during construction and commissioning.
  • Lead and mentor Commissioning Engineers across all commissioning levels (Levels 1–5).
