About The Position

Commissioning Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Commissioning team on real client projects. You will learn the entire commissioning process from start to finish, reviewing construction documents and gaining hands-on experience testing HVAC equipment using building automation systems. You will help develop commissioning documentation using commissioning-specific software, and support clients and contractors in closing out high-performance projects. Success in this internship means participating in site visits throughout construction and the testing phase, building a working understanding of automation, HVAC, and building performance systems, and leaving with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.

Requirements

• Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to building automation systems
• Interest in the commissioning process or high-performance building systems
• Familiarity with commissioning-specific software
• Interest in construction document review

Responsibilities
